Due to the latest developments in Thuringia with the COVID-19 pandemic we are really sorry to announce that it won’t be possible to attend the live radio performances by Marialuisa Capurso in presence. However, you can listen in on the radio. On Radio Lotte 106,6 Mhz in the area of Weimar and worldwide via web on bauhaus.fm (https://uni-weimar.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=5cd6dc3061ce255567f72bcfb&id=7bb719105b&e=51d4ca9023) .

Also, the exhibition dates are slightly changed. The exhibition in Eigenheim will be open to the public at the 11th and 12th of December from 15:00 to 18:00

The current artist in residence Marialuisa Capurso opens the space of Eigenheim Weimar for the last stage of her project “R U B E D O – the snake eats its own tail”.

RUBEDO is a long duration performance with an alchemical approach. It is a combination of individual and collective practices, structured into a series of workshops, conversations, installations, rituals and performances.

Marialuisa Capurso and a group of artists worked closely together during the last two months. They now show 2 live radio performances and an exhibition in progress at Galerie Eigenheim.

During the 3^rd and the 4^th of December Marialuisa Capurso will lead individual performances and collective improvisations influenced by the urge to explore, heal, transform and sublimate the memory of the oppressive power of patriarchy in our bodies through sound, poetry and free expression.

The artist also questions power relations of improvisation and explores different listening and participatory practices.

At the 11^th and 12^th  of December the exhibition „Space for Traces“ will be running in the gallery. Marialuisa Capurso curates the traces that the group created during the last two months. Projections, drawings and audio pieces will be shown, opening up a space of questioning, answering, creating and triggering art processes as an opposition to the abusive power of patriarchy.

The Radio Art Residency is an international fellowship programme for artistic practice on the radio. The residency is a joint project by the Goethe-Institut and Experimental Radio at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in cooperation with the University of Music Franz Liszt, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, EIGENHEIM Weimar/Berlin and ACC Galerie Weimar.

Live-Radio-Performances und Ausstellung in der Galerie Eigenheim

Die derzeitige Residenzkünstlerin Marialuisa Capurso öffnet den Raum der Galerie Eigenheim in Weimar für die letzte Phase ihres Projekts  "R U B E D O – the snake eats its own tail".

Rubedo ist eine lang andauernde Performance mit alchemistischem Ansatz. Eine Kombination aus individuellen und kollektiven Praktiken, die in einer Reihe von Workshops, Gesprächen, Installationen, Ritualen und Performances gegliedert ist.

Marialuisa Capurso und eine Gruppe von Künstler*innen, mit denen sie in den letzten zwei Monaten eng zusammengearbeitet hat, nutzen den Raum der Galerie Eigenheim für zwei Live-Radio-Performances und eine prozesshafte Ausstellung.

Am 3. und 4. Dezember wird Marialuisa Capurso individuelle Performances und kollektive Improvisationen anleiten. Diese sind von dem Drang geprägt, unsere Erinnerung an die unterdrückerische Macht des Patriarchats in unseren Körpern durch Klang, Poesie und freien Ausdruck zu erforschen, zu heilen, zu transformieren und schließlich zu sublimieren.

Die Künstlerin hinterfragt darüber hinaus die Machtverhältnisse innerhalb von Improvisation selbst und erforscht verschiedene Praktiken des Zuhörens und der Beteiligung.

11. und 12. Dezember wird in der Galerie die Ausstellung „Space for Traces“ gezeigt. Marialuisa Capurso kuratiert die in den letzten zwei Monaten hinterlassenen Spuren der Künstler*innen-Gruppe. Projektionen, Zeichnungen und Audiostücke kommen in der Galerie zusammen, um einen Raum für Fragen, Antworten, und das Anstoßen von Kunstprozessen als Widersand gegen die missbräuchliche Macht des Patriachats zu eröffnen.
