[Rundfunkorchester] Invitation to "generations"

Hello All!

Some already know our current project - some not. Here the warm 
invitation for all of you. The project is part of generations.fm  which 
is part of this years Goethe-Symposium in Weimar.

Ich habe eine Idee für generations.fm. Hiermit möchte ich dich herzlich 
einladen daran teil zunehmen. Ich hoffe die Beschreibung ist nicht zu 
kompliziert. Was am ende entstehen wird weiß ich auch noch nicht - das 
finde ich spannend.

Lasst uns einen Stammbaum mit Sounds erstellen. Jede*r ist eingeladen 
eine neue Generation zu erschaffen und an der Evolution teil zunehmen. 
Es geht darum eine Sound-Datei herunterzuladen - zu bearbeiten und die 
neue Version wieder hoch zu laden. Vorhandene Dateien werden also bitte 
nicht überschrieben. Somit erzeugen wir Material für unsere 
(hoffentlich) Performance im Rahmen des Generation FM des Goethe 
Symposiums im Juni.
Änderungen am Konzept sind sehr willkommen. Lieber so schnell wie 
möglich bevor wir schon ganz viel Material haben. Toll wäre wenn am Ende 
auch eine visuelle Ebene entstehen könnte. Vielleicht kann jemand ein 
Script zur Darstellung schreiben oder so ...

Sonst noch Spielregeln? Fast keine.

Kurzanleitung:

1. Datei herunterladen
2. Sound ändern
3. Neue Version der Datei speichern
4. Name "SomeonesOldDate_YourNewDate" (siehe Erklärung unten)
5. Alte Textdatei hrerunterladen
6. Eine neue Zeile dazu schreiben
7. Abspeichern mit selben Namen wie Soundfile
8. in die Cloud hochladen
9. Erledigt!

Hier noch mehr Gedanken dazu:

Ich habe eine Sounddatei in unsere Cloud geladen. Mit der fängt alles 
an. Die habe ich nach dem Datum und Uhrzeit benannt, wann sie auf meine 
Festplatte geschrieben worden ist. In diesen Account könnt ihr auch hoch 
laden. Somit sollte eine Evolution von Dateien beginnen die uns Material 
für eine Performance im Juni kreieren sollte.  Natürlich kann es dann 
auch mehrere Versionen einer Datei geben - das sind dann Geschwister. 
Seid kreative und geht verantwortungsvoll mit der Cloud um. Es ist 
Absicht ist das die Autorenschaft verschwindet.

Hier ein paar Vorschläge zum bearbeiten:

lauter, leiser, länger machen, kürzer machen, vorwärts, rückwärts, dazu 
singen, löcher rein schneiden, mit Effekten arbeiten, stretchen, pitchen

..... seid kreativ, fair und verantwortungsvoll

Schön wäre, wenn wenigstens ein bisschen der vorhergehenden Version zu 
erkennen ist.

Hier kommt eine Anleitung zum benennen der Datei. Die Benennung der 
neuen Version ist Kern des Projektes bitte haltet euch an die Syntax:

JahrMonatTag_StundeMinuteSekunde

Also zum Beispiel für meine Ausgangsdatei:
210424_185252.wav für 21. April um 18:52:52

Um eine neue Version zu kreieren, lädt diese Datei nun jemand von euch 
herunter und verändert sie und speichert sie mit dem alten Namen und! 
dem neuen Datummstempel in eine neu Datei und lädt sie hoch. Bitte das 
"-" Zeichen zwischen alten und neuem Namen schreiben.

Also es entsteht zum Beispiel
210424_185252-200502_221626.wav
wenn jemand am 2. Mai um 22:16 Uhr und 26 Sekunden eine neue Version 
abspeichert. Die nächste Person macht das so mit dem neuen Teil des 
Namens (200502_221626) genau so. Also:

210502_221626-210502_230517.wav

Regeln. Zusatz:
- Bitte nur eine Bearbeitung uploaden. Dann auf die nächste 
Fremdbearbeitung warten. Also der/die Bearbeiter/in bitte nicht 
arbeitswütig 10 Dateien am Stück uploaden.
- Bitte die Bearbeitung in fortlaufenden .txt Dateien schreiben. So, 
dass wir alle Bearbeitungen in der letzten Datei aufgeführt haben.

Zusatz zur Syntax:

Die Syntax sollte immer so sein:
[OldDate]_[OldTime]-[NewDate]_[NewTime].[FileType].
Time und Date sind immer die Angaben wann die Datei geschrieben worden 
ist. Der Dateiname besteht also immer nur aus 4 Zahlenkombinationen aus 
jeweils 6 Ziffern.

I have an idea for generations.fm.  Hereby I would like to invite you to 
participate. I hope the description is not too complicated. What will 
arise in the end I do not know yet - I find it exciting.
Let's create a family tree with sounds. Everyone is invited to create a 
new generation and take part in the evolution. The idea is to download a 
sound file - edit it and upload the new version. So please do not 
overwrite existing files. This way we create material for our 
(hopefully) performance at the Generation FM of the Goethe Symposium in 
June.
Changes to the concept are very welcome. Please do it as soon as 
possible before we already have a lot of material. It would be great if 
there could be a visual layer at the end as well. Maybe someone can 
write a script for the presentation or something ...

Any other rules? Almost none.

Short instructions:

1. download file
2. change sound
3. save new version of the file
4. name "SomeonesOldDate_YourNewDate" (see explanation below)
5. download old text file
6. add a new line
7. save with same name as soundfile
8. upload to the cloud
9. done!

Here are some more thoughts on this:

I uploaded a sound file to our cloud. That's where it all starts. I 
named it by the date and time it was written to my hard drive. You can 
also upload to this account. This should start an evolution of files 
that should create material for a performance in June.  Of course there 
can be more than one version of a file - they will be siblings. Be 
creative and use the cloud responsibly. It is intentional that 
authorship disappears.

Here are a few suggestions for editing:

louder, softer, make longer, make shorter, forward, backward, sing to 
it, cut holes in it, work with effects, stretch it, pitch it

..... be creative, fair and responsible

It would be nice to see at least a little bit of the previous version.

Here comes a guide to naming the file. The naming of the new version is 
core of the project please stick to the syntax:

YearMonthDay_HourMinuteSecond.wav

So for example for my source file:
210424_185252.wav for April 21 at 18:52:52.

To create a new version, someone of you now downloads this file and 
changes it and saves it with the old name and! the new date stamp into a 
new file and uploads it. Please write the "-" sign between old and new name.

So it results for example
210424_185252-200502_221626.wav
if someone saves a new version on May 2nd at 22:16 and 26 seconds. The 
next person does the same with the new part of the name (200502_221626). So:

210502_221626-210502_230517.wav

I hope the description is not too complicated.

Rules. Addition:
- Please upload only one edit. Then wait for the next external 
processing. So the editor please do not upload 10 files at a time.
- Please write the processing in continuous .txt files. So that we have 
all edits listed in the last file.

Addition:
The syntax should always be like this:
[OldDate]_[OldTime]-[NewDate]_[NewTime].[FileType].
Time and Date are always the information when the file was written. So 
the file name always consists of only 4 number combinations of 6 digits 
each.
