Media Culture B.Sc.
Who am I?
Hey everyone!
I’m Thao, and I’m in my first semester studying Media Culture.
To really get to know me, it’s important to understand what has shaped my
character from the very beginning – and that’s my parents!
I’m the daughter of two Vietnamese contract workers who, through hard
work and perseverance, built a life for themselves here in Germany despite
constant social rejection.
From them, I learned perseverance, solidarity, morality, and kindness.
I’ve always been politically interested and engaged. If I had to choose a
focus, I’d say integration, inclusion, and political education in schools
are especially important to me.
I love exploring different creative activities – like crocheting,
dancing, and so on – but I always find my way back to painting. That’s
simply my passion.
Why am I running?
I’m running to bring a new perspective to the table.
Even as a child, I was given a lot of responsibility:
I was involved in my parents’ financial decisions, had to stand up
against right-wing extremism, and organized school events at my school.
In a way, I’m already well-prepared and would like to share my
experiences while continuing to grow and learn.
If you had the choice, which cafeteria meal would you be and why?
Probably something with potatoes – mashed, chips, fries, you name it.
They come in all kinds of forms but are always good – just like me,
I’ve got many different sides.
