Old and new students: Good luck with your studies!

Lennart Uecker

Urban Studies B.Sc.

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Lennart, I’m now in my seventh semester of Urbanistik and have
just returned from my semester abroad in the Netherlands. I’m particularly
interested in the connection between sustainable mobility and public space
design. In addition to my studies, I have been working as the higher
education policy advisor for the StudierendenKonvent for over two years and
am a member of the Thuringian Student Union Conference and the
Studierendenwerk administrative board. I am also part of the free student
cargo bike hire scheme – feel free to hire a lasti! ;)

Why am I running?

The university is facing challenging times. We will have to work with
significantly less money in the coming semesters and the consequences of
these cuts will probably affect all members of the university in one way or
another. I want to ensure that the quality of teaching and student support
does not deteriorate and that we can continue to maintain a
well-functioning student body with its initiatives, events and the M18.

If you had the choice, which cafeteria meal would you be and why?

Quark dumplings with apple sauce – a no-brainer! I’m either a very
filling main course after you’ve survived the half-hour queue at my counter
or I connect people as a shared dessert. There are rumors that lifelong
friendships have been formed over a plate of quark dumplings with apple
sauce. Give it a try!
